Harmony Project Drumline Hits The Desert in Palm Springs

Palm Springs, CA (February 28, 2026) - The rhythm of the Leimert Park Harmony Project Drumline echoed through the desert as our talented young artists performed at the 37th Annual Palm Springs Black History Parade and Town Fair. Organized through a partnership between Palm Springs Parks and Recreation and the Palm Springs Black History Committee, the event served as a powerful celebration of heritage, unity, and community spirit.

For many of our students, the trip represented more than just a performance. It was a unique opportunity to travel beyond Los Angeles County and serve as cultural ambassadors for the Harmony Project mission. Marching down the famous Palm Canyon Drive, the ensemble entertained spectators with their technical precision and that Harmony Project energy.

“Providing our students with the chance to perform in new environments is vital for their growth as both musicians and individuals,” said Leimert Park Program Manager Malia Pinkard. “Seeing the welcoming reception from the Palm Springs community was a nice cap to our recent string of parade performances.”

With each unique experience our students have, more confidence blossoms within them. At Harmony Project, we are ensuring that the next generation of leaders finds their voice both on and off the stage.
