Harmony Project Marches in the 39th Annual Kingdom Day Parade

January 15, 2024 - Our talented musicians from the Leimert Park program at Audubon Middle School took part in the 39th annual Kingdom Day Parade on January 15. The parade, dedicated to the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., resonates deeply with our mission of promoting the advancement of all children regardless of socioeconomic status through music education.

Under the theme "Can't Stop, Won't Stop, Going to the Promised Land," our hard-working students showcased their dedication and passion, capturing the attention of ABC, NBC, and Telemundo52. The spotlight shone on our very own teaching artist Krystal and one of our sixth-grade students Angelica, who were interviewed on Telemundo52, amplified the impact of our participation.

The commitment and perseverance of our students were truly remarkable, as they dedicated a month to practice and even engaged in conditioning on the track to ensure they were prepared for the three-mile parade route. Their resilience and enthusiasm embody the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s unwavering determination.

Participating in this annual event has been a profound experience for our students, and we are immensely grateful for the opportunity. As we reflect on this meaningful journey, we eagerly anticipate the possibility of participating again in next year's edition, continuing to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through our community initiatives.
