Harmony Project Performs at Dodger Stadium for Juneteenth & Black Heritage Night!

Los Angeles, CA (June 19, 2025) – What an unforgettable day for Harmony Project! Our talented young musicians recently took center stage at Dodger Stadium as part of the Black Heritage Night festivities, proudly honoring Juneteenth. This incredible opportunity showcased the dedication and talent of our students while celebrating a vital cultural holiday.

Our Leimert Park drumline and drill team delivered an electrifying performance right on the field during Dodger star Mookie Betts’ Celebrity Softball Game. The energy was palpable as fans grooved to the rhythms, enjoying a lineup that included celebrated musicians like Lil’ Wayne and Lizzo, actor Lil Rel Howery, and legendary athletes Terrell Owens and Matt Barnes.

Beyond their stellar performance, our students truly embraced the spirit of the day. They enthusiastically danced on the field during the celebrity softball game, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere. In a moment that brought smiles to everyone, they proudly carried out the cherished Dodger tradition of shouting, "It's Time for Dodger Baseball!" over the stadium's entertainment system as the Dodgers-Padres game commenced. For a few of our students, it was an especially memorable occasion – their very first time experiencing the magic of a Dodgers game!

"This Juneteenth performance at Dodger Stadium was a fantastic opportunity for our young artists," shared Natalie Jackson, Executive Director of Harmony Project. "We are incredibly thankful to Mookie and Brianna Betts and the Los Angeles Dodgers for this incredible partnership, which provided such a powerful platform for our students and our mission."

The impact of the day resonated deeply with our students. Aaliyah, one of our performers, perfectly captured the mixed emotions of such a grand stage: "I was scared. My whole body was shaking during the performance, but I had lots of fun!"

We are immensely grateful to our Harmony Project family – our supporters, families, and partners – for making moments like this possible. Your vital part in our mission allows us to continue providing transformative music education experiences that empower young lives.
