NATIONAL DIVISION

Due to the incredible success of our founding program in Los Angeles, many other cities have asked to replicate our model. The Harmony Project has seven affiliates in other cities and we have formed a division to support our national growth.

CHAIR

Howard Banchik joined HP in 2001 when the organization was newly formed serving 36 students. In 2002, he was elected as Board Chair and held that position for 12 years. During that period, HP grew to over 2,000 enrolled students in Los Angeles with 13 sites and 39 orchestras.

BARRY BITTMAN, MD

CEO

Barry Bittman, MD is a neurologist, author, international speaker, researcher and population health innovator. Dr. Bittman is the Chairman and CEO of the Yamaha Music & Wellness Institute, a non-profit organization actively engaged in education and research.

FOUNDER

Dr. Martin, a published author, illustrator, playwright, composer and lyricist founded Harmony Project in 2001. Dr. Martin has accepted two White House awards on behalf of HP - the Coming Up Taller Award from former First Lady Michele Obama in 2009 and the Presidential Citizens Medal from President Barack Obama in 2011.
