Isaac: “My favorite thing is playing music!”

“I chose the viola because it has a beautiful sound,” says Isaac, age 9. He affectionately calls his viola “Sir Robert” for reasons only known to himself. His favorite songs that he has learned at Harmony Project are ‘Autumn’, ‘Carol of the Bells’ and ‘King Williams March’ because they have “beautiful notes.” Isaac wants to be a nurse when he grows up, just like his sister, but for now he says, “My favorite thing is playing music!”

She’s looking forward to playing in the orchestra, so she can perform with her siblings, Ruth and Matthew, who are also in Harmony Project and play the violin and clarinet.

Mekhi: “Drums have all the different kinds of sounds”

Mekhi, age 6, has been playing the drums since he was a baby. He loves the drums because according to him, “they have all the different kinds of sounds” — loud, quiet, sharp, soft, and everything in between. Mekhi attends Harmony Project to learn more about the drums with the people that care about him and about his music. He plans to be a Harmony Project student until he graduates from High School.
