Music Changing Lives in LA
PROGRAMS
Expo Center (YOLA)
In 2006, Harmony Project set out to replicate its Hollywood program in South Los Angeles. Today the program has grown from a handful of students to over 250 as well as the launch of the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s YOLA initiative.
YOLA EXPO Center Youth Orchestra is a partnership between Harmony Project, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and EXPO Center, a City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks facility. With this partnership, Harmony Project has expanded its quality programming with additional artistic direction from the Los Angeles Philharmonic via conductor Bruce Kiesling and LA Phil Music Director Gustavo Dudamel, who has conducted these students in Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Hollywood Bowl. We are grateful to hold this program in partnership with the EXPO Center, a lively community center with programs for all ages.
