HALO Award (2012): Harmony Project Music Director Diane Louie received the 2012 HALO Award, presented by The Carl & Roberta Deutsch Foundation. The HALO Award recognizes volunteers who go above and beyond to promote the betterment of their communities, as well as the nonprofit organizations whose work motivates and supports such volunteers.

Presidential Citizens Medal (2011): Dr. Margaret Martin received the 2011 Presidential Citizens Medal, the nation’s second-highest civilian honor (the highest being the Presidential Medal of Freedom). From the official White House press release, “Martin received the Citizens Medal for replacing violence in children’s lives with music.”

Coming Up Taller (2009): Harmony Project received the Coming Up Taller Award, which “recognize[s] exemplary arts and humanities programs which foster young people’s intellectual and creative development”, from the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities (PCAH), presented by Michelle Obama at the White House.
